Fungi and Orchids
Both of these subjects are seasonal and subjects that i enjoy shooting. Fungi are found in autumn when things get damp. Often it means shooting in forests and low light conditions. Orchids on the other hand are a late spring/ early summer plant. Here in Kent we are blessed with many species. The first ones are usually seen in April and the last July/August, so its early purples in April and Pyramid Orchids in July. During the intervening months I charge around a variety of locations to catch various species in bloom. I often get to photograph butterflies at the same time as orchids. Like Fungi, many orchids are found in woodland areas and lighting conditions can be challenging. Either way both Fungi and Orchid seasons are looked forward to and enjoyable
