 Infra red Photography

Infra red photography is imaging using the infra red spectrum which cannot be seen by the naked eye. Digital cameras can see Infra red and this degrades the image so cameras have a Hot filter to remove roughly 95% of infra red. To capture infra red images you can use a filter on your normal camera which allows only infra red light though, however exposure times are long, or like me you can have a modified camera in which the hot filter is removed and replaced with an infra red filter of various grades. Infra red images can give you strange coloured images called false colour, and it can also give you contrasty monochrome images which is what i do.
